Holy fish, Batman! Two comics within a week! As can be seen my inks have vastly improved over my last endeavor. I'm really pleased with how this turned out. Even the musculature looks decent. The only thing lacking, and this goes for most all my comics, is the lack of background scenery in panels 1 and 4. But I'm not complaining.
Oh, since you can probably get Crackdown cheap at used game stores, you should pick up a copy. It's an awesome game. I actually had more fun playing that than I did the Halo 3 beta (mainly because I suck at Halo).
Payless, the Wal-Mart of shoes, is famous for its buy one get one half off scheme. Of course, that's a mouthful of words right there so their brilliant marketing team reduced it down to "bogo". However, when spelled back out it's Buy One Get One which is clearly a lie. It should be "bogoho", but then I guess it sounds like some black guy ordering his prositutes around. Yo! Bo go, ho!
Haven't made one of these in a while. I was digging through some of my old stuff the other day and found my little comic ideas notebook. I always did like this one and I'm not sure why I never made it. This and Pikachunks were actually written at the same time and were supposed to "air" back to back. But, anyhoo...
Since I can't use Photoshop anymore and since GIMP sucks I had to ink the comic by hand. BY HAND! Actually, it turned out a lot better than I thought it would. Not to say that it is without problems but it works.
Remember that sketch a day routine I suggested last week. Well it's back, only not quite so themed. The reason I stopped in the first place is because thqat Midna picture really bummed me out. It sucked. Hard core.
Well, I've actually got two days worth of drawing goodness, so I'll give you the first one:
From left to right:
My Guitar Hero guitar. Take special note of the Limozeen and Teen Girl Squad stickers. Okay, they're kind of hard to see.
Yuna, a la Final Fantasy X
Some teacup from my sisters' tea set.
Mario as seen in Mario Sunshine (an awesome game). I'm really pleased with how that came out. Also, there's Toad. I wasn't really trying to get a good shape or anything, I just wanted something to test my new pens out on. Up at the top is a little tuft of hair. Just wanted to practice some hair shading.
Keep those RSS readers tuned to here for more arty updates. And other.... stuff.
Don't be a douche bag. Make sure you redline. Don't let customers walk all over you. Only you have the power to take their money. If you didn't they'd be stealing. Also, try going to school and learning proper grammer. It works wonders.

Is not nearly as cool as an eagle.

What the hell? Is somebody driving sound? Mad?

Bad news. You weren't accepted.

Yes. Yes he does.
mikes hard lemonade myspace layouts
MySpace sucks hard enough without you going and screwing it up with some sort of booze oriented layout.
fullsail college
It is the college equivelent of Chuck Norris. It kicks you and all your family's asses.
full sail horrible
You misspelled awesome. It's "A W E S O M E", not "H O R R I B L E". No wonder they turned you down.
If this doesn't sufficiently answer what ever it was you were googling obviously you don't know what you're looking for in the first place.
If you frequent digg you no doubt saw this a while back. For those who don't enjoy clicking links to find out pertinent information, it's a page that calculates how "famous" you are on the internet. I'll say this isn't entirely foolproof. All calculations are done via google search results, but it gives you somewhat of an idea about your... uniqueness.
Anyways, for fun I fed the information for a search of "dxprog" in and it turns out I've got 10/10 points for being a microcelebrity. Cool, I suppose. But like I said, it's more about uniqueness and the fact that I've stuck with one online moniker through my entire time on the internet helps. It also helps that I am the only person going by dxprog. The little calculation wouldn't work nearly as well if there were others who went by that handle.
This may sound egeotistical, but every once and again I google myself just to see what's been indexed about me. I've kept a fairly open internet life so it's not hard to turn up a bunch of relevent results. First thing that pops up is this site, followed by my Digg profile, Digital Double/my Smackjeeves profile and a couple of videos. Sadly, the first video is the one that I loathe with all the hatred I can muster. But, that aside, this is a pretty good synopsis of myself as it stands currently.
The origins of my online presence, however, are seemingly lost forever in the Sea of Digital Bits we call the internet. All that exists of my very first web page is gone and since YPN has been screwed, none of that exists either. Actually, that's not true. YPN's entire history is sitting on a CD-R on my desk. Every last iteration, from sasq2 to Tetra 2. I've even got the unfinished beta of partyfish. But, I digress.
There are a few old things that are harbored on the same disc as said YPN stuff that I've lovingly added to the archives (see the 2003 stuff on the right there). Nothing terribly interesting or deep, but it gives some insight as to what I was doing at the time (not a whole hell of a lot). But, then again, I was only sixteen and not much was really expected of me.
Well, this has been yet another fun trip down memory lane. Not sure why I post these things, but in twenty years it'll be interesting to go back and read everything. I'll probably think about myself now what I think of my former self: what a douchebag.
Must post. Must get awful picture off the front page!
I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before that I'm eagerly awaiting Eternal Sonata, the RPG making its way towards Xbox 360 sometime in September. Actually, it was a (if not the) primary reason I bought the console in the first place. Halo is good and all, but my heart lies with RPGs and other story type games (i.e. Pheonix Wright).
So, anyways, I'd heard from a fairly reliable source that the latest Xbox magazine had a demo disc with ES on it. Almost immediately I went out and purchased a copy (I wasn't the only one). But, with these thing rarely is the pot of gold so easily obtained. Nay, the bastard disc wouldn't load. Well, it would but it would only give me small nuggets of which I hungered for only to choke mere mintes (or less) into said meal. I was pissed.
Lucky for me I went back an reread the news post for the comic I referenced up above and it held a small morsel of hope. An obscure reference to something about boiling discs to resurrect them from DVD hell. I didn't really expect much but I needed to play this demo (and I didn't really want to be gypped out of $8.99). So I nuked some water in the microwave and slipped the disc in. Much to my surprise all problems were erased and I was one with the game... until the demo ended.
As for the game itself it is pure joy encapsulated inside a stream of binary ones and zeros. The artwork is fantastic, the gameplay is solid. I'm hoping that the same will be said for the story as there isn't much sampling of that but from what I've seem I think all will be well. It'll definitely be worth my sixty clams and will get me through the couple of weeks between when I move in and school starts.
Well, I think that was sufficient enough to get the evil off the front page. At least the initial load, that is. I would be careful about how far and how fast you scroll down the page.
So I decided to do Midna today. There are parts of this picture I kind of like but overall I really hate it. First off she looks like a guy. Second her head is not wide enough and I scrwed up the shading on the face so it's hard to make out her eye. The body I'm happier with than what it originally was, but it still seems... off. Ugh. Maybe whatever I draw tomorrow will be better.
I need to do more drawing to help beef up my skills. As such I have set up a little exercise for myself: select a theme each week and do a drawing every day. This week's theme, as the title suggests, is Zelda. Specifically, Twilight Princess. So I bring you my first "masterpeice":
Honestly, I'm not terribly thrilled with this. All I can say is I can't wait to get my Mac Book Pro from the school loaded with Photoshop so I can use tools I'm already familiar with. My Prismas are nice, but they lack an undo function.
Last couple days I decided to actually DO something and crack out my Prismas and create beautiful masterpiec es that will be remembered long after I die. Or something.
It's the Cheat! Isn't he cute? He is until he gnaws your face off, that is.
Some kid and a frog off the cover of a book my little brothers and sisters got from the library. I was originally just going to draw the kid (which I only drew because that's what was in front of my face), but the crowd that had gathered around me started chanting for the frog. So I drew the frog. Whatever.
Stay tuned for some more awesome stuff. Awesome stuff that isn't wierd kids and flying frogs.
So, last night my bros and I went to Al's concert. It was freakin' sweet! He played pretty much every song off of Straight Out of Lynwood plus most of the mainstays (Eat It, Fat, Smells Like Nirvana, etc.). For the encore he played the cellphone song to which everybody, myself included, started waving their cellphones. After that he wound up with an extended version of Albuquerque. It was simply awesome. I shunned my quiet exterior and clapped and whooed and sang with everybody else. But, you're probably saying "Shuddup, give us teh pix!" I've only got a few because getting good pictures with the crazy lighting so I'm only giving you the good ones. Sucks to be you.
Remember when CSS was first introduced and fancy colored scroll bars were all the rage? Remember when every site on the internet had some sort of cross-page transition? Remember when all sites used Times New Roman for their font? Remember animated GIFs? I do. Good Lord, those days sucked!
Today is my second day of being unemployed. It's a somewhat bittersweet feeling. It's awesome not to have to have the nightmares of work hanging over my head, but on the flipside I won't be able to hang around with all the pals I made over the last year and a half. Not to mention the seemingly endless supply of money is non-existant now. Oh well.
What really sucks, though, is the fact that I've been sick the last several days. Actually it's more allergies than anything else. I blame the rotting vegitation due to receeding flood waters.
I recently finished Crackdown. It's an awesome game but the ending really, really sucks. It sucked so bad I haven't played it since. Originally I bought Crackdown for the Halo 3 beta (which I never really played much) but the main game is still pretty sweet. I probably will start working on Final Fantasy XII again or maybe Halo 2. Come to think of it I haven't even finished Halo 1. Oh, Xbox 360 extended warranty ftw! I'm no longer paranoid about using it.
Well, I have an important nap I have to take, so later!
For the second time in a three days I've had to call in and miss work. This time, however, is because our wonderful little town has been flooded. Since the river runs between me and my place of employment I am trapped in my house. And what a better way to waste time than by drawing.
Mostly some experimental stuff especially with posing, hair and head shape. Of course, the thing that gets me frustrated most is body proportions and limbs. However, I'm pretty happy with how these turned out.
I had the top 5 post all written up and something went screwy when trying to post it. Now it's gone. Lost forever in the digital mines of hell. I'll give you the basic rundown without the commentary because I don't feel like typing it again.
