RB Drums

Posted on in hacking rock band xbox 360 windows

Here's a simple little program I whipped up to use the Rock Bad drums as a MIDI controller. I'll have a video up sometime later. NOTE - You'll need the .NET 2.0 Framework.

Note: I'm not providing any support for this program. It's up for those who want a MIDI solution.

EDIT: Since it appears my program is complete crap, I now redirect you to somebody who's developed a much better piece of software (and probably spent much longer than fifteen minutes developing it). Enjoy!

Does this work with the PS3 version?

I keep getting an error "has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Hi there,
Great work on this!

I'm wondering if you might be interested in helping me diagnose why my rb kit isn't working with my xbox 360.

I called tech support and they said it's just a defective kit. But I can't get a replacement before it's released in Canada... so, sadly, i have some time.

If not, no worries. Thanks anyways.

There is hope for using the PS3 version. I could use some other apps, including xpadder, with it to route its game controller messages into keyboard messages for use with FL Studio and a drumkit VST or soundfont. Check the vid:

Looks like you need to have XNA installed for it to work.

Hey man, having issues with your program. I really need a generic HID to MIDI conversion utility. Any ideas? Is this what your software does? Please help. Thanks.
