The Haul, Part 1 - It Figures

After a bunch of bullshit at immigration/customs and a grueling walk home from the train station, I am now nestled back into the comfort of my own home... as much comfort as can be derived when even "home" is still slightly foreign. But, crashing on my couch onto a pile of pillows in a room that's not tiny is a good feeling.

But, that's not why we're here.

No, today begins a series of posts on all the shit I bought while overseas. Oddly enough, I actually came in fairly under budget on the trip while getting everything I'd wanted plus more; it was a success to be sure.

Today's show-and-tell is of the figures that were purchased. Figures were near the top of my list of things that I had planned on spending money on. Luckily, I found most of them at pretty decent prices (three of the larger ones I got for $3/per). I'm quite pleased with the haul, though there were a couple of characters that I just couldn't find any figures of. Either way, my quest for a 3D girlfriend has now become more difficult.

The tiny figures I'm going to store on my desk at work. Everybody else has their desks decorated in some way, so it's high time I did mine.

Planes, Trains, and Feet-o-mobiles

It is with sadness that I type this, sitting in Narita airport and awaiting my flight back to the Americas. On the upside, I get to have a longer birthday than usual. On the downside, I'm leaving Japan. I looking forward to being back in the States, though. It'll be nice to be able to go into places and understand the language and also to have Taco Bell and pizza. I'll leave you with a stupid ass video taken in our hotel room on some evening I don't remember. Sayounara!

There once was a man who asked me about full anime body pillows...

Turns out that man was my boss, who asked before I even knew he was a being alive. And, while I have no more to add to the subject, I offer you this picture:

Yes, those are ahem protrusions in an aptly placed spot. They're made of the same material you'd find in a keyboard/mouse wrist rest (yes, I touched it). My brother was quite taken by the material (he claims just the material).

Writing up enormously long posts is quite cumbersome on this laptop and are also so schizophrenic that it detracts from the awesomeness of individual locations visited. Thus, I will be penning shorter yet more informational articles when we return to the states, sometime "tomorrow" (or the day after tomorrow in American time). Look forward to it!

Akihabara Day 2 - Taiko 'n Shit

I suppose it's less "'n shit" and more just Taiko. We're heading out early for more sightseeing, I've slept in late (6:45 am), so all you get today is a video of Chris and I bashing out some Taiko goodness at the SEGA arcade in Akihabara (who gracefully didn't have any photography bans that I could see). Ja ne~!
